Stuart Starks

stuartI was born in Jena, a little one-red light town in the middle of Louisiana, the second son of a south Louisiana A.G. preacher and a young lady from Holland. Growing up in a musical home, I was always exposed to music, right from the beginning. Singing in my dad's church at the age of four and learning the bass at the age of eight, I got started early in my musical future. By the age of seventeen, I had already been exposed to the art of multi-track recording by a good friend; and then in the summer of 1992, I wrote my first original song, "The One I Call LORD."

Now with many songs behind me, I can really look back with appreciation at the blessing of almighty God in all areas of my life. I can go no further without recalling the help and support of my parents and my loving and lovely wife of over thirteen years, Waverly. Whether it was constructive criticism at all stages of the game in writing, recording, or learning a new instrument, or staying up late not being able to sleep because I was shaking the walls with drums and bass and singing off key, they've always been there to support. I also have two beautiful daughters, the apples of my eye.

There is no doubt in my mind that I am doing what I was created to do. The question is how ancient will I be when God is done with me. I intend, God willing, to be recording albums and writing songs to a ripe old age. Accompanied by fellow workers in the ministry like the fellas of Sacrifice, we will do our utmost to carry the gospel of JESUS CHRIST to all corners of the world.
